Biography

With a career spanning a vast musical territory, Francesco D'Acri has established himself as a singer, songwriter and musician of extraordinary talent. He is known for his countless Anplagghed Sciò — guitar, voice and harmonica concerts — during which he performs reimagined covers and original songs in an emotional journey through the strings of the soul and the tonalities of innovation. Equally at home on stage, Francesco demonstrates a masterful ability to engage his audience. His shows, which often exceed two hours of musical magic, are an immersive and interactive experience. When the evening calls for it, Francesco invites the audience to sing along with him, transforming each performance into a collective celebration of music. Francesco's musical influences range from legends such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley to contemporary innovators like The Black Keys and Pearl Jam. He also draws from the Italian musical heritage, finding inspiration in masters such as De Gregori, Battisti and Lucio Dalla. This unique blend of styles and influences merges harmoniously in his performances, offering audiences an engaging and timeless experience. Mastery, passion and an undeniable stage presence characterise every single one of Francesco D'Acri's shows, thanks to his ability to keep audiences glued to the stage with a magnetic force that few artists are capable of expressing. Francesco D'Acri is far more than a simple musician: he is a storyteller, an architect of emotions and a master in the art of keeping energy high throughout his performances. He has three CDs to his name — two of original songs and one of covers. Here is what has been said about him: "D'Acri has a discipline and rigour that stand in contrast with these times. And so the references must be sought in memory, among giants (the early De André and De Gregori) and figures of a different standing from mainstream perception — certainly not in terms of quality (Lolli, Rocchi, Loy & Altomare, Kuzminac). Lyrics of great sensitivity, intimate yet universal, melancholic and powerful. (...) He may remind some of Stratos, others of Sangiorgi, but this only testifies to the breadth of vision and range of solutions this album offers, asking doses of attention and goodwill from its listeners." (Ermanno Labianca – "Distorsioni.net") "An overall soul atmosphere, the voice always very expressive and decidedly in the foreground. Francesco D'Acri feeds on a great admiration for the vocalists of the past, with Demetrio Stratos at the forefront." (Piergiorgio Pardo – "Blow Up") "The mind — and this is no small thing — immediately turns to Lucio Battisti of the very early 1970s, the one who, with pure genius, brought together Afro-American R&B sounds with Mediterranean melody." (Paolo Vites – "Ilsussidiario.net") "A gritty D'Acri confronts contemporary man's disorientation by shifting his indie stylistic signature toward the mainstream, offering an Italian-flavoured rock that nonetheless feels too confining for him. There is spontaneity and a unique touch, not just classical references." (Eleonora Bagarotti – "Libertà") "Francesco D'Acri is an interpreter — and this is not a way of diminishing his artistic stature, but rather a way of distinguishing him from the crowd of singers populating the current Italian scene. He interprets songs; he doesn't merely sing them." (Francesco Casuscelli – "Rockerilla") RELEASED CDs: Che cosa sei, 2011 Over The Covers, 2015 Il Principio di Archimede, 2017 Contact: Email: fdacri@gmail.com Tel: +39 348 7607137
